Enrollment Information

Enrollment and Tuition Information
Current enrollment is for the 2017-18 school year: August 30, 2017 – May 29, 2018. Children must be old enough to start kindergarten in either 2018 or 2019, as per the Alpine School District guidelines. Children must also be potty trained as of the first day of class. Placement is first come, first served.  To apply, fill out an online application form.  Payment of a $50 supply fee (not due at time of application) will confirm the child’s position.

Siblings: If you enroll siblings in Wasatch Nature School during the same school year, I will apply a $200 discount to one sibling’s annual tuition fee. This discount will distributed monthly.
Payment: Each family is responsible for tuition regardless of their child’s attendance. Tuition for the calendar year (August 30, 2017 – May 29, 2018) can be paid annually, quarterly or monthly. Please note that payment of $95 per student is due by the fifth of each month.  If your payment is received before the first of the month, the student is eligible for a $5 monthly discount, making the monthly amount due $90.  Payment can be made through Venmo @tauferb, checks made out to Brittany Murdock or cash.  There will be a tuition drop box if you decide to pay by check or in cash.  Though I hope not to use them, I reserve the right to take 3 personal days per class throughout the school year if necessary.
NOTE: There is no reduction in tuition for missed days or for days that school is closed or canceled. Tuition is not reduced in December.  There are no make-up classes.   We follow the Alpine School District calendar.
TUITION SUBSIDIZATION:  My focus really is on helping the kids learn in a fun interactive environment and I believe that should be available to anyone.  Here are some options to reduce preschool costs:
*$50 supply fee will be waived if student is responsible for the enrollment of another student (including a sibling) during the same school year.
*Volunteer in class!  It's always helpful to have another set of hands around.  $15 will be taken off of the subsequent month's tuition for every full class a parent attends with their child.  The catch? Siblings are not invited.

Class Options 2017-18
All classes are offered from 9 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. On Mondays and Wednesdays, the classes are for children that are of age to enter kindergarten in the 2018-19 school year.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays classes are for children that are of age to enter kindergarten in the 2019-20 school year.
*Though I like to try to keep the classes separated by age, I reserve the right to include any children that will be 5 years old by September 1, 2019 in either class.

Illness

To keep all children and the teacher healthy, I need your cooperation! This means keeping your child home if you suspect he/she is sick or if they are experiencing any of the symptoms below. Keep in mind that we spend time outdoors daily, so if your child is not well enough to go outside, please keep him/her at home.

Please keep your child home when any of the following conditions are present:

ŸFever of 100 degrees OR when your child has had a fever the night before

ŸSignificant respiratory stress (chronic or continuous coughing/wheezing);
ŸLice or other infestation;
ŸCuts or wounds with bleeding or oozing;
ŸDiarrhea, vomiting or stomach complaints;
ŸSymptoms of unknown origin, such as a rash;
ŸGreen or yellow runny nose (clear runny noses are okay):
ŸAn illness during its contagious stage such as “pink eye”
ŸYour child requires one-on-one care OR more care than I can provide without compromising the health and safety of other children in the class.
If any of these symptoms are present during drop off, or if your child is not feeling well, I will request that the child go home to prevent the spread of illness.
